so are the cr311's road legal as they look like a better tread than the Dunlop dz tyres I will be driving down on/

It's illegal to sell tyres for the road that are not E marked.

The only requirements for using a tyre on the road is that it is fit for purpose and has the minimum legal tread level.

This is how you can use Japanese spec RE070's, even though they are not E marked, yet can't buy them from a dealer selling to the road car market.

I wouldn't drive down on them though Steve, you will take valuable performance out of them.

I have no choice as they are the only road legal tyres I have for my 17" rims. I can't get my Michelin tyres to fit so I was forced into buying 18" cr311's and since I only have one set of 18" wheels which are my normal wheels I have to fit those tyres to those rims.

I'm more pissed off at having to drive down to the event with green wheels :(

Buy some crap tyres for your spare wheels, you really shouldnt be using your CR311s on the journey there dude, I am certain you will remove a lot of their life.

Cheers Alan, Lee its not the cr311's I will be driving down on its the dunlop dz02 which are a road smi slick. They have about 4mm of tread but there isnt much tread to the pattern. I just hope it doesnt rain :)

From memory and I can't be bothered looking for the link again (it's some place on Scabbynet) I seem to remember a ban on road legal trackday tyres starting from 2013? Can anyone confirm this?

If I knew there was tyre support at Snetteron I would just tame the tyres as it would be alot easier.

Any tips on how to scrub these x10,s in ?

Was thinking of driving 4 miles or so on road before using them on track.

No need, they will be ready after practice session has finished, just build up slowly during practice.

Not necessary Chris, they will be sorted half way round your first run.

All the searches I have previously done on this subject state about 30psi.

I am certain if you go to Pirelis motorsport page and look up the 1B tyre that they use in the Lamborghini cup they list how to treat the tyre on that section, only difference is they state a few warm up laps followed by hot laps then check tyre pressures then, I think they list it in "bar" though, I did a quick conversion to psi and it worked out around 30psi, they then state things like car weight and so on that make up the differencxes in peoples preference, they do state a minimum setting though that I have heard others running below?
