Following on from the thread in Driving and Handling: http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=000129;p=1#000 028 we seem to have enough interest to start a GB on the TAS string gauge

http://www.bremsport.co.uk/acatalog/431.jpg

Prices are 27.50 for 5 or 24 for 10 (normally 30.50, all prices +VAT)

I will check with TAS on P&P but I suspect it will be cheaper for me to collect them and post them out to individuals.

The list so far:
1. AndrewC
2. Drb5
3. Dnb
4. Sticky-Micky
5. Jlanng

I don't really want this to drag on so I intend to close the GB next Friday, 10th Sept.

If people could send me their full name, address and preferred email address by PM when they add their name to the list to save time once the final numbers are known.

I don't see us getting to ten. Shall we go ahead?

I think it's worth going ahead with 5+.

I spoke to TAS today and they would charge 9+VAT P&P, he said it's shipping weight is 2kg. Post Office Std Parcel Service for 2Kg is only 4.78.

He also confirmed that the 5+ price is 27.50+VAT.

The GB price will therefore be: (27.50 * 1.175) + 4.78 = 37.09.
Normal TAS price would be: (30.50 + 9.00) * 1.175 = 46.41, so a saving of more than 25%!

I'll send you all an email with payment details.

I intend to go to TAS on Friday lunchtime to buy them over the counter so I can get them out as soon as I receive payment.

If anyone wants out, or anyone else wants in, let me know before noon on Friday.

OK, got them, and at the 10 off price too :D

Price should therefore be: (24.00 * 1.175) + 4.78 = 32.98 which is a 30% saving

I'll confirm the postage price at the post office in the morning and send everyone an email.

Had a play with mine (ooh-err) earlier, Very easy to use, in fact I can think of several DIY uses :D

I also weighed one, 1.25Kg in a cardboard wrapper.

Postage should be even less...
