Don't go to Middlehurst! (unless your pockets are bottomless)

Go to Tony @ Abbey Motorsport (Oxted J6-M25) - 400bhp is easy peasy and will only cost a couple of grand:

Free-flow straight though exhaust (standard car is really strangled) - about 800 squid
Induction kit (Apexi/K&N/Blitz or HKS) - about 200 squid
Exchange ECU to run higher boost - swap + 600 squid
HKS boost controller so you can whack the boost upto 1.2 bar (the limit for stock turbos) - around 400 squid

If you're going to drive it like you're supposed to drive Skylines (ie fast) then you need to get an uprated oil cooler. The Jap cars aren't fitted with much cooling stuff as they don't go over 112mph. - around 600 squid
OH and btw - get some Ferrodo DS2000 pads front and rear - 200 squid

PS I expect a ride after all this free advice http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

You are not wrong Mr Harsh but first you had to be rehabilitated http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/eek.gif http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Don't know if they are any good (never had a Nissan) but two names crop up again and again with regards to Nissan tuning:

Norris Designs (http://www.norrisdesigns.com/index.htm) Not sure if the deal with Skylines though

Silvia Engineering (http://www.se-nissan.com/)

How does Mrs Harj feel about your "Best thing..." statement? http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

PS:Have you actually got a car yet?

Standard Ceramic turbos are only good enough for 1 bar of boost.

My car has a Mines ECU fitted which is nice. An exhaust, induction kit and 1 bar is what I will be doing in the next few months.

Intercooler will be the very next purchase.

The inlet temp on my car started at 52 degress Celsius and only dropped to 47 after a run. May explain why the intercooler is the first mod they do in Japan.

One of the best Skyline tuners in the UK are Hiteq Performance, a Nissan Specialist. The two guys there are originally from Middlehurst Motorsport (the official dealership), but have set up in a small unit near M6, J27 (Wigan).

They've done some very good work on my 200sx and always have loads of Skylines and Sunny GTR's in. I recommend you phone Ian Hill or Jon Whitehead, their number is 01942 721778. Check out the web site on \\www.hiteq.co.uk

I believe they do a 425bhp conversion at a reasonable price.

Your still talking about getting a skyline, I will belive it when I see it!!!!!!!

I just set up an R33 with a fancy HKS management system. She put out 377BHP on my tight arse rollers so that has to be over 400 on anybody elses.

Oi, Fat boy! http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif
To get a genuine 400+bhp from a Skylark you will need:
1) Front mounted intercooler
2) Steel turbos
3) Free flow exhaust
4) Bigger injectors
5) Mines cams
6) Remapped ECU
7) At least 1.2 bar of boost
8) Uprated clutch to cope!
9) Oil cooler to cope
10) Better rods, pistons and crank (to cope for any more than a few thousand miles http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif).

However, it will STILL weigh 1500Kg and for some reason they never seem to make much torque (unlike you http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif)....

What torque did the Skylark make that hit 377bhp?

Rich - would that be an F-Con-V? How much so you charge to set one of them up then? (i've already got one but it's not fitted)

Mike - that sounds like an aweful lot! Oh and BTW - Skylarks all come with front mounted intercoolers http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

Fitted a Blitz induction kit to my R32 yesterday. (Can't work out how the other bracket fits but it doesn't need it on the bottom one really)

Anyway, it is really quiet as I was expecting to hear a hurricane going on! It is obviously working though as I have found 3 starlings, one rabbit and half a fox attached to the front of the car near the intake.

I reckon I am running about 540bhp now, up from the 310-320bhp and the best part is that it is on the same boost!

I take it you are joking...?! I can't honestly believe you think that (perhaps you used to own a 500bhp+ T3/4, with four greys Cosworth in the past?).
