Been almost a year since the last RX-7 post, so...

Any idea if you can get some sort of coating that makes shiny metal look like black plastic?

Polish and elbow grease.

I can't imagine we are talking anodised aluminium which might be more difficult to scrub off, but if it is simple plating, then a scourer followed by some black spray paint.

You could always have stuff powder coated but it may be expensive.

Halfords sell Plasticote spray heat resistant enamel coatings. They work really well. The satin black stuff works really well for de blinging engine bay stuff and suchlike. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks guys http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif the thought of having shiny stuff under my bonnet was worrying me http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif I'd hate to think of the abuse I'd get for having a tarty engine bay having slagged mates else off for it. The area under the bonnet is for making the car go quickly, not looking nice http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
