Hi All,

Kevin posted in the GT4 area, so I hope it is OK to return the favour http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

Test drove a dark metallic blue EVO 6 yesterday (totally standard). I must say I was very impressed. Didn't get much of a chance to really 'give it some' due to traffic but it felt reeeeeel good http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

Acceleration is smooth and just keeps pulling. Doesn't seem to drop off at all as the revs. climb. I.e. a solid wedge of acceleration that stays constant. Hope that makes sense.

The ride is good but a little firm at low speed. However, personally I like it like that.

For a car which is so big, the steering is very reactive and tight. Point and shoot with no delays, bit like a go-kart at low speeds.

Interior was actually OK and not too plasticky (sp?). The Recaros were just perfect but maybe a bit narrow for the larger driver ? Very comfortable in my case. Blue dials looked a little cheap.

Road presense is immense. At various traffic lights, no one would come closer than about 3 car lenghts. Cars trying to pull out of side turnings would change their minds.

Very easy car to drive around town slowly without it constantly urging you to push it. In fact so easy, easy to forget what you are driving until you look in the rear-view mirror to see that awesome wing http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

The car is crying out for a big exhaust, it simply doesn't make enough noise http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

Didn't get a chance to really open it up on the open road (which was a shame) but all in all a very nice car.

Now, what is the going rate for selling a kidney ? Is it a sellers market......

Cheers

Ian

Hi Ian

Now this is progress, inter-posting BBS if there is such a phrase.I completely agree about the exhaust being too quiet,I could'nt wait for the mongoose when I bought my car.If we have time on the 13th you could try mine and see how it compares with a stock version.I have changed springs, tyres, and engine bits,so would be a good comparision.

Regards Kevin

Hey Ian,

Is the "staunch gt4" a limited edition I haven't heard off? How does it compare to the Carlos Sainz edition? http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

Glad you like it.

I just wonder who'll be brave enough to have the first PE Evo 6 remap?!

This is really good to get the inter-marque posting going. I am thinking of buying an Evo as my next car in a year or so.

Sunil,

Why wait, there are some bargains to be had in the 'recently used' Evo 5 and 6 market right now and you'd still (for the time being anyhow) get a reasonable p/ex price on your car. I changed from a 97MY Turbo to an E6 and honestly love getting in it each morning.

ha ha, well my scooby has cost me in excess of 30k right now so i need to get a little more than 7k miles out of it before i can bare to part with it. Also i am just about to change jobs and this means i'll get to drive it much more on a daily basis so i might as well get some use out of it for a while yet.

If i do go for an EVo then i want a brand new one so i know how its been treated http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif...metallic blue is the colour for me!
