The 2012 Time Attack dates have just been confirmed, and unfortunately the rumours are true, the round at Oulton Park has been dropped. IMO this is one of the best circuits in the country, sad loss!!

Good news is Cadwell is on May 5th and does not clash with Scooby Sprint dates :D

News on regs (sippet from Time Attack) >

Just to keep you all informed

We are not planning any major changes to the regs for 2012 BUT

there have been some changes from MSA for 2012
This is not a substiture for looking at the regs and blue book!

the regs on having oil tanks/hot water tanks / REMOTE RESERVOIRS FOR SUSPENSION DAMPERS / hydraulic reservoirs have been tightened up and they should not be in the drivers compartment ..... or they must be boxed in fully

rear spoilers must not be wider than the maximum width of the vehicles bodywork

and overalls - as mentioned in last years regs, proban are no longer allowed - overalls must be fia nomex

no i dont know what the tyres regs are for 2012 yet

have a great new year - see some of you at the NEC next month

cheers

Club class same as last year, not sure about the others yet, have heard better tyres for club pro and possibly slicks for the big guns?

Would be good if everyone used the same slick tyre

I think slicks are very likely.

Im going to the Autosport show tomorrow, I will hopefully find out what their plans are ref tyres? Slicks for the top class makes sense, I would guess club pro will still be on something road legal?

Tyres are def slicks for pro/pro extreme possibility of announcement this week alrhough realistically by the end of the month as to which tyre supplier. Should be interesting swapping the set up from normal road tyres to full on sticky rubber and even more interesting recalibrating the internal brain realisation that corners may be a gear higher !!

Then realising you also need a set of wets and then realising that slicks are at their quickest during the first 5 heat cycles, so you need a new set for every event if you want the best performance!

then realising you need a set of tyre warmers too....else you spend your first 3 laps getting the slicks upto the correct temperature

Sounds like you need to win the loto just for tyres lol
