View Full Version : Belgian meet : a BIG thankyou

28th August 2000, 11:00
We just wanted to say a big thank you to Theo for organising yesterday's meet, and everyone else involved. We had a fantastic time - great to see so many Scoobys in one place. The guy in the Town Hall couldn't believe his eyes!

The runs were excellent, especially the mini-rally that we did yesterday afternoon - you know who you are (Sailor/Bellend!).

One for the sailor boys/girls - drop us a line when you get back.

Can't wait til next time.

Herman - thanks for the wheel, very nice to meet you, send us a mail, we'll be in touch.

Once again, BIG thanks.

ooooooh sailors!

Well, we just got back.I was sick on the boat and had the cronic mick taken out of me.

I would just like to say thanks to all of you that made myself,Natalie,Paul and Laura feel so welcome. Without you guys it would'nt of been the same. (Driving without you all on the way home was not the same. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/frown.gif )

A massive thanks to all the guys and girls who organised the event. It was enjoyed without a doubt by the convoy that helped tear up those little lanes- the crowd of 20 sunday walk 80 year old spectators was v.funny and Doms 9000 start in front of them in his RB5 (The only scoob of its kind at the event-rare as rocking horse muck http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif ) sent echos over beguim and across Holland!lol Which allegedly we visited at one point. Nat was gutted as we never saw Frankfurt nor Warsaw. LOL She is crying tears as big as October cabbages. We did the whole route and for those of you that did too I think you will agree, despite the 65 detors and U-turns it was a great crack.I took some cracking snaps and have a few of you on the move. If I get any that might be worth owning will let you know and get you one blown up for the office/back room.

Good night, God bless and thank God for "Seca" 99Ron fuel. (James and I found it on the way back. Ner ner nee ner ner)

Fabulous time, must do it again http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cant wait to see the photos... especially Ronnies 'action' shots http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/eek.gif

Anders, Im also prepared to write an article from a different standpoint if required.

Hope to see you all again soon. Trax 2000 anyone?

Just got the photos back. They are pretty good although Nat will be sacked as chief photo taker as there was a lot of the sky and fields (Because I kept booting it? yeah, right!)

There are some great ones of indiduals cars and a great one of all of us on the hill.

Lets hope that this sort of thing happens more frequently. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

Once the piccies are scanned I will mail them to you all.

29th August 2000, 15:32
You're all soooooooooooo nice! http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Let's hear some critisism too, otherwise we'll start thinking that we are Godlike...as iff being Belgian isn't bad enough! http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
But it was rather nice, wasn't it? http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hi guys,

Colin's already put some piccies on http://www.users.myisp.co.uk/~cberry - takes time to download though. I'm going to get ours developed tomorrow and then hassle Dom to get them scanned in - will keep you updated.

Shed a tear on the way back to Calais on Sunday evening, "I don't want to go home, I like it here" - sad woman, but I/we had sooo much fun.

RonnieH - where were you sick? France, Belgium, Holland, Frankfurt or Warsaw? Hee hee.

We should be at Trax 2000, so see you all again very soon hopefully.

Bigdram - my only criticism was that we had to stop at the end of the day!!

The length of the girls nipples on channel 16 in the motel. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif "honestly they were that long Anders, without the aid of ice"

Look at my embarrassment in the next photo as I agree and Nat also looks suprised as she thought I was watching powerboats on eurosport while she was in the shower.
James is also embarrassed in the next photo as he his laughing because he told me about the channel (sorry linda http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif ) and Mark Underwood looks bemused too as he now realises we twigged why he came---->For the porn..and not to enjoy driving that beaut of a porsche . LOL. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif
Colin gets off the hook as he was taking the photos, however after that he then (photo not shown) ran across the car park naked and swam across the large pool with the fountains.

For the caption competition:

"I thought that Belgian waiter was doing something very indecent at our table. Shocking ! But then we realized he was just serving the steacks. Size *does* matter."

Really glad you enjoyed yourselves - that's what we do it for. Too bad I did not have the time to chat with everybody, will make that up next time.

Where else can you see the Wizard of Wax doing demo's on a dog http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif.

65 cars gathered at the beginning of the day, some more joined in during. Hellovalot more than we first expected.

We will of course do this again next year, and some suggestion has been made to do a 2 day event. We will definitely think about that, maybe do a Saturday evening bit with cart or an open air rock concert, so it's worth while staying in a hotel for you guys.

Not going to do the full story here, as there will be some Southerners ( http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif) doing a write-up in True Grip. (when it's out, could you send us a copy ?)

Thanks for joining us in force.

I echo my thanks as written elsewhere. Fabulous day out and well done. I'll be there for the next one for sure.

However u got to promise me something; (1) I need lots of dogs to make the dog parlour pay off and (2) I need at least 10 cars that are un prepared paintwise!

Nah...only joking really. Porn..what porn..I thought Ronnie was well into that with iced ni**les etc..Ronnie enjoyed that as you could tell the way he was smiling! Me..I dipped out as the Guestlink was not working in my room.

What is John K measuring I wonder? It not the thought of having to bunk up with Anders is it!

My only critism is that blasted cow in the restaurant! Those steaks...blimey they werent steaks, they were roasting joints and no wonder they were so big the chef wanted to getrid of the last of his pensioner herd. Chewy or what

Theo...now I twig why you wanted to go to that restaurant....big steaks...looks like that u were a regular there at one time...my neck is stiff at having to keep looking up at you.

Thanks again. Shame Ronnie had to decorate yetr another boat. How many people did u manage to catch this time Ronnie? For the benefit of John K all Ronnie did was to have a "Liquid Laugh"!

See ya at the next meet.

What a great weekend. This is the second event organised by a European club (555 birthday party being the other) and yet again it was fantastic. Great cars, great people and great organisation. SIDC really MUST do something like this for next year.

Many thanks to all who turned up. Wendy and I enjoyed the weekend so much we are a bit depressed now to be back at work http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/frown.gif

A big thankyou to Theo and co for such a great bash and finally to Ronnie, Natalie, Paul, Laura, James, Linda, Dom and Kim for great company and big thankyou to Wendy for pretending to be excited by big brakes and noisy exhausts!

Q: What is John K measuring in his photo?

A: his braking distance; or

A: how close Ronnie came to barfing all over him; or

A: the obvious!!!

Hello everybody! Good to hear you all had a wicked weekend in Belgium. Thanks for the piccies Colin! Thanks to Theo for inviting us! And Ronnie's decoration down the side of the Sea France boat was quite a sight! Speak to you all soon!

Of course, the correct answer is that I was demonstrating how close Anders came to some of your bumpers during VERY late braking while at the back of the convey travelling to the motel on Sunday night.

Any inference having a phallic reference was way off beam and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Thanks Theo and others for a great time.
