Just thought I would let you know how the Exmoor Reccie went. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif
I meet Nick Hill at the B&Q just of the motorway at junction 25 Taunton. I was shown up straight away, as Nick’s car was its usual Sunday gleaming self. Mine looked like it had been dragged through a hedge backwards. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/redface.gif
I will not disclose the route as of yet you will all find out next Sunday there is a stop at the usual teashop, a stop for photos and a stop at the seaside. Yet another stop on the way back to say goodbye.
On the way to the tea shop there is a hairpin bend with a few junctions on the left. This is where Nick and I passed a group of motor bikers. Me being the bigheaded b@st@rd that I am gives it a handbrake turn on the hairpin then spins all the wheels racing up the small straight. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/cool.gif The bikes gave chase and one bike had caught us at the end of the small straight then came the bends. No traffic about just the two Impreza’s and the group of bikes. After about a mile we only had one bike left with us. A few more bends over uneven road and the last biker gave up. The bike was a lot faster than us on the straights but could not keep up on the bends. This was large motorbikes and the rate Nick and I were driving I am certain the biker was trying but could just not keep up.
After the tea shop Nick gave me the privilege of driving up front The moor is only a mile from the tea shop and I was giving it max right boot around a bend when all I saw was snow 6ft of snow both sides of the road. The roads were clear and dry the sun was out and we had snow all along the roadside. Once into the moors the snow gradually disappeared. I am afraid I lost Nick somewhere across the moors and have not seen him since. We did manage to contact each other by mobile but the reception around the moors is none existent. I was still on the moors looking for Nick and he was at home drinking tea. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/mad.gif I had a great day out, as I am certain you will have. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Losing Bob is easy when he's in front. Firstly he's so bleeding quick & secondly he tears off in the wrong direction! Certain members of the reccie team were having waaayyy too much fun & not looking for picnic places like the other reccie team members!!!! http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

Anyhow the route is sorted, with stops. We have warned the Tea Shoppe & they will lay tables etc ready for our arrival. There will be two groups to cater for varying speed requirements.

If anyone has a Camcorder pls bring it along. Driving behind Bob across the moors was huge fun & watching his car splash through melting snow puddles, with snow at each side of the road & gorgeous sunlight was pretty impressive.

Full details will be sent out soon to the peeps I have on the mailing list.
