It is with great regret that we inform you that we have had to cancel the Grand Firework Spectacular, which was to be held on Saturday 4th November. The recent severe weather conditions has had a devastating impact on our grounds and we have had to take this decision in the interests of public safety and enjoyment and to avoid the probability of large numbers of cars being stranded.

We do not feel that we can offer the high quality event that many have come to expect and we feel that it is only fair to give as much notice as possible. There is also the need to preserve the long-term future of our grounds which would be severely damaged were this event to go ahead. The situation is so bad that even if we experience no further bad weather, although more is forecast, the car parks and grounds will simply not have time to recover from repeated flooding.

The Fireworks event is an important part of the fund-raising activities necessary to support our charitable objectives and although we are under no obligation to offer refunds in the event of cancellation, we have decided to do so. However, other alternatives are available.

We are sorry that we have to take this action and hope that you will continue to support us in the future.

Got our notice of cancellation in the post when I got home tonight http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/frown.gif - bottom lip is quivering, guess we'll have to make do with sparklers in the garden now http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

If anyone fancies coming for lunch, we're still meeting as before @1230.
