View Full Version : HKS SuperDrager replacement

Firstly, apologies to anyone who's seen this on scoobynet bbs and IWOC list. I was advised that maybe 22b would have been the best place to post this.

Anyway, on with the show:

As you may know the WRX Wagon has a full HKS SuperDrager exhaust system, which is nice, but it is a little loud, so I'm considering replacing it with something sporty but not too loud.

My current leaning is towards a full scoobysport exhaust system, mainly as I know that they are god exhausts.

What I want to know is how much quiter than a SuperDrager system would a full scoobysport system be? would it be possible/best to just fit a scoobysport backbox (if such a thing exists) if so would this make much difference to sound levels?

Any idea on complete price inc VAT and fitting for a fully scoobysport system?

Scooby Sport full system is not intrusive for the passengers unless you are in a 5 door.

Much louder on the outside http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Price "cheap at half the price"! http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/tongue.gif

will reply direct to your email.

Ah, mine is a 5 door.

Anyway, cheers for the responses. I've spoken to the missus and we're going to stick with the SuperDragon (as the kids call it!) for a while, if it get's really annoying then we'll replace it with a full SS item.

something else to consider:

1) Keep the mid/back section of the Super Drager as it will most certainly not be inferior to the practically standard (no-cat, but you don't have one either) Subaru mid-section and a louder (but what else apart from flimsy self-conviction?) backbox.

2) By far the very best and extremely effective (especially when combined with the HKS mid/back section) part of the ScoobySport exhaust offerings is their downpipe which cannot be too strongly recommended!! To make it even better, have it HPC coated (in and out - email if you would like to know where and for how much) and that will give you the noticeable performance improvement across the whole rev band

3) The noise and roughness of SS, HKS and any other aftermarket exhausts is not something that just happens to exist, but a simple consquence of ultra-rich fuelling and totally inadequate timing the standard ecu dictates. The moment those and some other things get right, the exhaust get much smoother and quieter (while retaining the character we all like) and there is virtually no noise in the cabin under 4000rpm.

There is quite a few members out there who should be able to verify this if you need to hear it more than once.
