Would have loved to attend this year again, but the venue is just too far south for me to consider, unless there is something else like a track day to make it worthwhile.

460 miles from Aberdeen!

Anyone got any spare Air-Miles

Maybe next year though....

As you can imagine I was all ready to inform 22B.COM members about the AGM but I was advised the SIDC is not an internet based club. Snail mail members have as much right to hear the news "first" as internet empowered members.

If internet empowered members wish to put forward a motion regarding the immediate dissemination of information via the internet that is down to them!

Well what about us members stuck overseas then eh!!!

Didn't think of that did you..

So now we are to be disadvantaged against the UK members.

Will you please ensure that the delivery snails are fast swimmers...

Did you get anything organised for Croft in August or has this fallen through.

If so have you got any dates in the future for Croft as yet.

Robmac,

Do you organise track days, if so where do you post info on them, is it a seperate web site?

I know SIDC do track days and advertise them, Easytrack (http://www.easytrack.co.uk) do some, what other companies have people gone through?

cheers,

Greg

30th of july, bad move.

There are quite a few scoobies doing Silverstone this year on the 30th.

What that means is that the active track day possie may not get representation.

(still, what do i care you may say, i aint a member anyway )

Doh!

It is 30th July

Someone had better run a thread on any major issues for me to award my proxy to the suitable candidate

There is, however, a bonus prize & that is Brands

I'm booked, see you there

Ok the date is pooh!
However not everyone on the committee wanted a track day focus.

If the turnout is low then the track fans have an argument for next year!

SIDC is not going away we are going from strength to strength!

I have to be honest..

a poor date

a poor venue

no passengers at brands incidentally.. so i suspect a limited turnout.

i will be passing on my grumbles over my back fence to grimsey

Mmmm, agree with that one, I've always wanted to 'do' Brands, but the 'no passengers' rule takes most of the fun away. So I won't be bothering (esp for £120!)

Why is this peculiar to Brands?

Greg

It's the Indy circuit - so good for spectators. Limited to 50 cars, so should be lots of track time.

Personally I'm not worried 'bout passengers. I think anyone who wants to come out with me must be nuts! I think it slightly constrains my driving & makes me more likely to come adrift. Saying that, I would like to get the wife out, so as to try & get her to stop squeaking when I go over 20mph into a corner

I understand that 10 places have already gone to a lot of scotties, so they're probably spending more than 4 hrs travelling...

Also notice that Brands are insisting on a Type A helmet. Which is a bit poo too. My cheapo open face is Type B. Luckily I've just started my 2 wheeled career so now also have a full face Type A, but I guess a lot of other people might run foul of this. Will anybody actually check?

Type A helmet is the only thing I don't have, but I can borrow one for the day.

See you in October

Ian,

isn't the AGM - SIDC members only?

Should we not be posting the location in an "open" forum?

Without a club card you wont get in to the AGM, its a public place, anybody can get in if they pay, but they wont be able to attend the meeting unless a member.

My first year in SIDC and therefore my first AGM.

I agree with Lee and Darren. AGM, poor venue, poor time, it's a long way to travel without a good enough enticement to get most people to attend, perhaps that's the plan and there's a conspiracy going on!!

Brands Hatch, again, it's a shame no passengers allowed as once more it takes part of the fun out of it! Pity the AGM couldn't be twinned with Brands! What's the reasoning for not allowing passengers, as long as they sign disclaimers, what's the problem?

Can we vote via e-mail etc for the AGM or put motions forward?

I get this feeling that SIDC don't seem to like WWW or email too much, thus I doubt we'd be able to vote via email.

Might be wrong though

Electronic voting!

I would love to, Lee has the technology......lets just say that not all the committee is internet friendly!

Maybe next year!

I wanted live netcast of the proceedings!

Perhaps the SIDC should buy Grimesy a computer, maybe this would go half way to solving the problem and then treat him to a high performance user course with his next door neighbour!!

After all, didn't the SIDC have loads a surplus in the treasury at the end of last year. Certainly they were looking for suggestionson how to spend it!

Just a thought
