Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that it was the 21st century now and the internet is the future! Is SIDC going to stay in the 19th century much olnger??? I read somewhere that SIDC is a postal club so that everyone can join in,but am curious to know how many members are postal only,without any internet access at all??? I am just doing this on a sega dreamcast and am a nobody who would not have dreamt of surfing the net a few months ago,but it this is as I said the 21st century and I for one don't want to be left behind by 5 year olds!!! I am disappointed with the SIDC's apparent anti-Internet attitude - I think 90% of all Subaru activity (10% being True Grip and mailers) stems from or is encouraged by BBS, e-mail etc. At the "official" SIDC meet at Bentley, how many members attended who DIDN'T read about it via the Internet? But I'd like to take the attitude of "how can I help make the SIDC better?" Where do I send my e-mail to? IP: Logged
Lee 22B Cleaner	posted 29 July 2000 12:19 mail me all your gripes..I'll chuck em over the fence to Dick ..the problem is that (I think anyway) the SIDC doesnt realise how big the demand ACTUALLY is for internet-related stuff. Until they do realise it will be a postal club. IP: Logged

Scooby Mania 22B Member	posted 29 July 2000 17:23 Well I can't find my card but I'm paid up so I'm going, taking my paperwork/invite with me (which I wouldn't have received if I weren't a member). Anyone else coming from this end drop me a mail and tag along. (Nottingham). Sorry, forgot to mention, I'm going to watch a bit of the fun by stopping off at Silverstone in the morning, and going down to the AGM after lunch. Mike. Unfortunately, any comments should be addressed to the Snail Mail address, which is SIDC, 14 Cedar Walk, Canewdon, Essex, SS4 3QL unless you are going to the AGM you can tell him yourself. IP: Logged
Markus 22B Member	posted 29 July 2000 18:44 I'm with SuzyQ on this (suprise suprise ) I should, if I am not too scared be stating that the club MUST make a bigger internet effort, hey, Jam n Ali are surfing the net and they are kids (am trying to persuade them to come over here, but they said it was too imature!) anyway, joking apart, there really should be a bett net presence for SIDC. chrisp 22B Member	posted 29 July 2000 20:00 I have been an SIDC member for 2 years . I found out about the SIDC purely from internet access. This is pure guess but I suspect that well over 90% of the new members find it the same way as me from the bbs or www.sidc.co.uk. In all magazines you see the website address and very few have the postal address. Perhaps the way to guage it is to have a place on the registration form for "Where did you hear about the SIDC ?" I bump into loads of impreza owners who have never heard of the SIDC. Is easy to give the website address and they can then find the info for themselves. Just my opinion cheers chrisp IP: Logged
