    Track friendly exhaust recommendations

Got pulled at combe for being too loud on the drive by and when I was retested on the static I’d gone up to 102 from 98!

So weighing up adding an extra silencer into the system or replacing the centre and back sections.

Can anyone recommend a good flowing 3” system that is track friendly, I’m thinking about a droopy tailpipe to help lower the drive by noise :-)

    Cheers!

My Milltek has always been super quiet, been on the car 10 years and i've had to weld the bugger up a few times as the thing likes to crack, but considering the miles it's done i can't complain too much. Mine usually tests static at 89dbA. 3" full system.

my 10 year old milltek is quite noisy now-wonder how easy to open up the rear silencer and repack it -probably cheaper than a new rear box lol

Milltek could be a good shout John, any ideas if it would fit with an rcm rotated down pipe ?

    Cheers!

I dont sorry Iain. Drop RCMS a line, they should be able to tell you if it will match.

It's worth checking with Milltek on the silencer spec, as back in the day they used to have different noise level systems.

Mine has the downpipe resonator, centre section silencer and rear box, so as quiet as you can get them. With a rotated downpipe you wont have the resonator section, so its bound to be louder than mine.

Didn’t know you could get a resonator on the downpipe, that must be super quiet!

I just need to knock it down a few dB’s, never had a problem before, a few people commented on how loud it is when it comes on boost :-D

I’ll drop rcm a line, would like to keep the backbox if possible

Other option is get a bespoke centre section silencer made by a specialist.

from memory the Milltek uses oddball length sections so doesn't interchange with std style systems

My Nur Spec R static tested at 89db at Scooby Shootout years ago, with no bung in.

I'm not sure of the validity of their testing equiptment though.
