You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said "Parking Fine."

Surprised myself tonight and managed to get the engine in and bolted up in about 15 minutes tonight. Only to not have the release bearing engage properly because the circlip on the twin plate cover popped off as I tried to engage it.

So I had to take the bugger out, locate the circlip and housing correctly and then have another go. To my delight it went in equally as quick. So from putting the hoist in front of the car it took me 35 minutes to fit the engine, take it out, relocate the circlip and refit it again.

Anyway a couple of snaps of the engine in situ.

With the Airtec RS500 cooler fitted.

Looking good Daz, with the rad dropped a few inches are you concerned with heat soak at the base of the rad off the headers?

It's only an inch lower at most and the exhaust on the front mount set up I had was nearer. This also has two fans instead of the single one I had before so I'm certain it will be fine.

    New updates

Right, since obtaining this from Daz a while back, it has taken me a bit of time to sort some of the bits needed to finish!

Now starting to put this back together:

    Few jobs to do yet:

    Finish Install all wiring looms
    Order fuel tank/install fuel system
Decide whether to go flat bootfloor
    Fit new seats/harnesses
    Fit Turbo
    Install Syvecs
General tidy up of Paintwork, started OS already.

    Some current pics:

STI 5 Spoiler and Bootlid painted and waiting to be fitted:

Wiring loom and Heater box Re-fitted:

    XXR530 ET20's fitted:

Not quite sure on the finish, they are black chrome, I originally wanted them in Flat black but were not available!

Will see what they are like when its off axle stands and out in daylight.
