need to buy a cheap under £3k diesel 4 x 4 . needs to be a manual I reccon ? unless some autos have good MPG? also Aircon. no towing etc. Just tools etc. would like as refined a drive as possible
looking around ebay etc. Nissan terrano I am told are realy reliable etc?? and easy to fix. wouldnt mind a pajero import. But heard some suffer from head gasket problems like th2 small engine Hilux??

Luke for the coin i'd get a,
Pajero 2.8tdi auto SUPER EXCEED, it must be an exceed 2.8 version tho.
The 2.5 is sluggish (not that the 2.8 is fast), exceed comes with all the leather trim an toys.

If you keep your eyes open you should find one for a snip on ebay, eventually.
I'd also only have an auto due to the fact all 4x4's are mind numbing to drive, so why waste your effort getting involved with gear changes?

oh and if your not bothered about what it looks like/age, i nearly won a clean 89 2.8 exceed with all the trim for £350 a while back. It did 365 or sumot but it was the old old shape, a great tool for removing wing mirrors

havent a clue dude, but last time i filled up red derv was 36p per ltr. The audi 80 tdi did 400 miles for about £6 lol

early shogun will be lucky to see 23 mpg especially in auto-nice and torquey to drive though in a 2.8
