Hows yours running :D

Well, it will be there, just may not have all the bits I wanted fitted on it but it should make the 450 bhp quoted as long as its a cold day ;)

Mine is on track, possible minor head gasket problem, but runs well enough at 1.7 bar. In theory I could run it tomorrow, but want to do a few tweaks and hopefully fix leaking exhaust so I can breath easy in traffic!

Well, thanks to Trout for helping remove my gearbox, Wallis and Legacyturbs for putting the new one on, then off, then on. I now have a gearbox with nicer ratios.

However, i am not happy about the gear change, doesnt feel right.

Secondly, there seems to be a missfire (could be due to be stood/shunted around dads yard.

Thirdly, i think there is still a problem, i think Marks rear diff is ****ed, as the same problem is still there, with a new gearbox.

Other than that, we hope to be mapping at the end of the week, ready for Sunday.

Good luck lads, lets have a good day.

well erm.. Im waiting on radiator hoses.. havent heard the car run since the night before scoobyshootout.. havent mapped it yet.. but other than that confident..

Boot floor was removed last night.. Quickshift was finished last night.. erm...

Well if you end up short i would like to be considered as a stand in, i know its only a measily type 25 but would do ok in the handling and with the new front mount and other bits it wouldnt do too bad on the quarter.

Good luck to all

Not sure the rules allow people to take other people's places.

I do know that Tim is highly unlikely to make it and he has a reserved place.

Steven
26th July 2004, 10:47
I thought Team changes could be allowed upto or around the 13th July, after that, its a no no, due to the volume of people invloved.

Tim was originaly a reserve, that paid as a reserve, and when someone dropped out he got their place.

At the moment it looks like this

All I have to do is radiator shroud, water spray and swap the MAF sensor. I am currently maxing out the MAF sensor and can map around it if required.

New maf sensor fitted, just requires mapping, waterspray (got parts) and radiator shrouding.

Headgaskets not 100% but will allow 1/4 runs and handling circuit, probably top speed is fine if not too hot before. I will replace after TOTB as they are made to order and not held in stock by anyone in my thickness. Bit dissapointed in that but probably down to a combination of overheating (lack of working fan and split coolant pipe at shootout), detonation from boost creep (sorted out now) and general abuse my motor has got testing things in a rushed manner.

But after that car is done for the year I think.

Mapping of new MAF done on wat to work, just simple rescale, now I have about 0.38volts headroom instead of zero! AFR at top end is much more consistent now too, and shows I am getting increasing airflow all the way to 8000rpm.

My car has been ready to run for some weeks now, just last minute tweaks because I can. A bit different to having to finish the car to getting it running. I have been driving it every day to work the past few weeks.

Mines been running this week, just waited for Pat to be free to finish off the mapping, as last time we were stopped due to plugs being blown out.

Strange night tonight, went out to start mapping an dwe had a missfire. Tried a few things and nothing. Went to DW's to get some spare 8's incase they were frigged.

After a lot of pratting about, checking things, changing the ingnition module, then the plug leads, it finally ran smooth. One of the plug leads was frigged.

Peak boost through mid range was 1.6bar per defis, i think it holds this to the redline (pat would have to confirm), where the heads begin to struggle.

1st time i have seen the speedo properly pointing straight down. Pat said from his seat, the rev counter was just over 7000rpm in sixth :D

Happy bunny and almost ready to roll.

Rear springs to change tomorrow, along with adjusting the anti roll bar.

I was going to put my rear diff, but cant be arsed :D .

God these cars drink fuel when they need to. Fill up, then at 3/4 tank i had cover 90 miles (due to cruising), its now sat at 1/4 tank with 130 miles covered :D

Looking forward to tonight, and tomorrow :D
