How many are going besides myself (DRIVING)?

If there are around 10(ish) of us we can request funding from SIDC for a driving instructor for the day?

DRIVERS REPLY ONLY PLEASE http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

Grrrrreat. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

2nd August 2000, 09:01

What are you doing/done about your brakes?

Anders/Mike - is this a new SIDC policy, if not I've never seen it publicised before, cos we probably could have got an instructor for Silverstone and the Abingdon Scoobynet day, if others had known about this. Can you explain how it works?

2nd August 2000, 09:30
Anyone know how the sessions are going to work this time? It was crap last time as it was split into Bikes and cars for 1 hr each. Better to do 30mins on 30 mins off.

2nd August 2000, 10:37
Just to let everyone know that I have managed to get TYRES NORTHAMPTON once again to attend, so call Mark on 01604 588599 if you require new tyres, part-worns, or anything else.
Thank you in advance for your continued support. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

PS Harj. I presume you'll be selling the 4-pots after Donno?

I decided to buy Group N grooved discs from Scoobysport and Ferrodo Ds2000 pads.
I've also fitted braided hoses and replaced the brake fluid for Silcoline Dot 4 fluid.
They are just about bedded in now after 500 miles. It will be interesting to see how they last at Donnington next Friday compaired to the standard brakes!

Hi Guys,

I'm booked.

I called and asked a few questions. Apparently there are 3 groups - Novice, Intermediate & Expert. Each group goes out and takes it in turns. 15 mins per group. It is possible to change group during the day if it is for example obvious you should move up.

Anyone staying in a B&B nearby? I need to find one so recommendations are welcome.

See you guys there.

2nd August 2000, 16:26
Cheers for the info Mat!!

Hi Guys,... just got back from 2 wks in Spain and read this thread.

I will be at Donno this Friday in my usual capacity of 'he who must be obeyed'. ie., I am the direct liason between the Donno staff and the on-track behaviour of you lot!! I usually do this on the Donington trackdays, although not the evening ones normally.

I am also there as an official track instructor, so come grab me and remind me why I need to go to Spain to relax every now and then!! Still, not as bad as the TVR day next Monday... http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

On the issue of instruction at track days, the club will pay for me ( or a replacement) to attend any of the trackdays that there is enough of an SIDC attendance. So yes, if I am available, I could do the Silverstone date for example. Speak to either Pete Croney or Dick Grimes (or Anders, he has my number) at the club to arrange.

9th August 2000, 09:10
Hi Rob,

Hooray - I'm pleased your going to be there. Can I 'book' you first?

I'll be going out with the Novices (never been to Dono before). So will you sit with me for the first session - to help me safely lose my Dono cherry?

You'll recognise me there - my car is a 'classic'. (MY94).

Black Sub Imp Turbo. MY94. 5 door.

P.S. Stef has said he'll sit with me also - is that a good thing ;-<>

9th August 2000, 09:34

I would stick to sitting with a pro mate http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

Nice one Rob, see you there.

I approached the committee via both Anders And Pete Croney. I have not had a confirmation/reply back from either yet about whether SIDC will pay for anything?

9th August 2000, 21:32

10th August 2000, 23:59
