View Full Version : SILVERSTONE TRACKDAY - FULL GP CIRCUIT!

Stef
7th July 2000, 17:23
Hi peeps.

There are still a few places left for the RSOC National Day on Sunday July 30th.
It only costs £150 and is run in sessions of 20 mins, so loads of track time.
There are a few Scoobs already gatecrashing, so it would be great to get a few more together and really make a scene.
Tyres Northampton will also be in attendance to offer the usual services.
If anyone's up for it, post here and call Trudi on 0118 984 1583 to book.
We will probably all turn up in convoy too, just to pee them off even more! http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Only chance you'll get to drive the full GP circuit though.

Stef.

Hi Stef,

Very interested, how is this for track virgins? Is it all friendly enough?

20 minute sessions might be a shade too long for cars with standard brakes, but huge fun if you have uprated brakes http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

I'm going to play http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

Fortunately I have Brembos http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

It looks to be a top day out but as the Fords aren't too reliable, it's hard to get 'em on the track. We need to help make up the numbers so they don't lose out.

Greg, I've only done it once before http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif Make use of an instructor. Also, with Big Power Fords (& Felstead http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif ) about, make sure you can see out your rear-view mirror because you will be regularly overtaken. You can have fun pushing them round the corners tho' http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Apparently we will be grouped according to power/experience & most of the RS boys are virgins too http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif

Go sign up. Me, I can't wait http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ok convinced,

Are there instructors there?

Stef sign me up, where do you want the cheque sending?

Ordering my brake upgrade on Monday hopefully!

Good news http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

It's an RSOC thingy so you'll have to ring Trudi on the number above & either send a cheque or credit card.

See ya there http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

yep, its a great day on track, was well run last year and the instructors are located in the pit lane all day if you wish to have some coaching.

I will be there in the westie http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Just got in from the garage and have nearly finished installing my new cooling system.

As long as it works to plan, i will be terorising the 500BHP cossies all day http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/wink.gif cant wait. http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

At this cost I could not refuse. I booked a couple of weeks ago. Shame that the SIDC AGM is on the same day. Oh well, we'll just have to have some fun with the RS boys instead.

Glad that Tyres Northampton are in attendance, I need some new rubber.

NOT SO2.. No friggin way.. Too sudden at the limit the Toyo T1S are much more too my style.. More gradual break away

I HATE breaking away too suddenly at the Limit http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Besides The T1S on the black car showed no discernible wear after my track day at Seattle International Raceway.. Mind you they are 205/55x16 @ 35 psi no "rollover" either..

What's the wear rate on the blue car like at the mo Anders..?

Note to self bring the big visa card LOL

I have already asked them about getting some in as per Anders' request, but if you don't want them I'll get them to bring some more T1-S's instead.
They'll probably bring both anyway! http://bbs.22b.com/ubb/smile.gif

That one is a Fina with a Little Chef (saw today) BUT WTF am I doing wanting to go up the A14? Surely would be better off on A428 skirting Bedford, onto the M1 & bob's etc?

A14 just past the A142 Newmarket/Ely turning might be better. BP station. Must also check signing on time...

Wot time are you guys aiming to get there?

I reckon it's a good 2hr 15 mins from Leeds, so aiming to leave at 6am, get there 8/8:30ish for scrutineering.

Looks like I will hopefully have time after the minibus tour to change onto my track tyres!
